Calling All Forest Creatures…

by Linda Eaves on May 25, 2010

This morning I woke up with the thought:  “Why don’t I walk today?”

So instead of taking the car to the train station, I walked. For FOUR miles. Without a hitch and in time to catch the train. No panting, no unbearable pain, and it was enjoyable. But that’s not what I want to talk about.

THIS is - During the walk I found my mind wandering and playing pretend like it sometimes does. One part of my route took me through a very industrial part of town, lots of trucks whizzing by, not that much to look at,  so my mind wandered a bit.  My thoughts drifted, and I imagined a forest type scene, birds singing under a canopy of green and then I thought of….

Snow White

Not the original Snow. I mean she’s adorable and all…

My teeth hurt just looking at this picture...aww!

Nope. I’m talking this girl right here.

aahaahaah.....ah aahaahaah.....ah

Ahahah.....ah Ahahah.....ah!!!

I’m talking about the powerful Snow White who broke out an awesome rendition of  “The Immigrant Song” – by Led Zeppelin

Did you see that scene in Shrek the Third? Man, it was the best. When she switched from that sweet bird calling melody to an attack cry, the whole theater was either laughing their butts off or yelling out “YEAH!” at the screen. (Guilty of the second one…)

Yep.  That was the image going through my head as I powered down the sidewalk. I felt strong, fierce, awesome. Like I could do just about anything including command the entire animal kingdom. It was the best, and so enjoyable I didn’t want to stop.

Thirsty After 4 Mile Walk

Slurp!

So this entry is an ode to all you awesome powerful people and your awesome powerful victories which you might think are too small to notice. Do me a favor.

Notice.

Celebrate. Brag about it until you feel yourself start to blush. Then brag a little more.  Because you did it and are continuing to do it.

And you make me want to continue doing it too.  Even when I’ve had the thought, “Why don’t I walk today?”…and instead of letting it pass on by -

I think of you – and I do it.

What have you mastered lately? I want to hear you brag.  Gimme your powerful stories that make you say, “YEAH!” If you’re not sure, well tell me anyway. It can be about anything you want to talk about.

Leave a comment below, and tweet about this to your people.

I know there’s some attack birds or forest creatures you’ve summoned to aid you. Figuratively speaking of course…

I so ID with the Snow White in Shrek! In fact, I walk every morning with a friend who has noticed my, uh, affinity with birds (seriously, they seem to try to talk to me!).

Today I made a video called, “why astrology is good for you”. It’s taken me a long time to fully embrace this part of myself, and now that I have, I love it!

Note: Here’s the video Jennifer’s mentioningJennifer’s You Tube Video Thanks, Linda

Barbie! I want to find that piece of equipment I love like you have. That is so cool. Sounds like a match made in heaven.

My Berrigirl – Thank you dear. And we have to work on that bragging. :) More – More!

Jennifer – Speaking of animals – The black bunny I’ve been seeing near our house is not a wild one. It was a family pet that someone let go! Was just reminded that wild bunnies are brown. ARGH! I am going to feed it some carrots and keep it around or call animal control…not sure yet, but am so sad. There was a white one too.

    Love it!!

I felt strong today when I was able to get up and down from my knees a few times helping a friend put up shelving and unpacking boxes. My legs felt powerful!

I woke up early to go to the gym because I knew I would not get there during the day or evening. I hate getting up early, but it actually gave me a lot more energy than I would have had had I slept longer – plus there are not as many people there :-)

Miss B. This is awesome. Being able to move around freely and with ease – there’s nothing like it.

Laura – I could see you there in a sea of cardio equipment possibly with headphones on, doing your thing. Good one!
