I had a non scale victory this morning. You know what that is right? It’s a milestone that is not related to the numbers going down on the scale. I noticed something I hadn’t been able to do before — because I thought I was too big…
Here’s the story: I don’t remember how much I’ve blogged about it or where, but me and my guy found a really cool house, and we bought it. I have a garage now and my car is happy. Plus we can put all our stuff in it! Last Friday I got the keys to our new house. Yeah!
We’re all moved into the new house as of yesterday. We love it! It’s great and I’m so happy – except for my weird relationship with sleep. I was always an early bird, but for the last few days it’s like I’m operating on east coast time with this weird insomnia thing going on. Lots of excitement and thoughts in my head I guess.
So today instead of laying there staring at the ceiling – I got up and got dressed. Yay for adaptability! I did a few things around the house, then it was 4:30am. I’m drumming my fingers on my new kitchen counter and thinking: What to do? Then inspiration struck. WAL-MART?? Of course! There’s one open 24 hours just down the street from me.
After a short drive I’m happily walking through the glass doors – latte in hand, grabbing a cart on the way in. Yep – it was dead at Wallyworld except for a few early morning shoppers and night stockers. Love it!
Well here’s the NSV (non scale victory) part. I was cruising down the aisle looking at potential bedding for my new guest room, and I had one foot on the bar of the cart. Then I started pushing with the other foot, faster, faster….then I stepped up with my other foot on the bar – off I went. Both feet off the ground, riding that puppy like no tomorrow. I was shocked, amazed, then delighted – so I did it again to make sure I wasn’t hallucinating. Whee!
Bonus: The cart didn’t pop a wheelie and I didn’t fall on my butt! (That was my fear – I didn’t listen to it, just did it!) It was so fun and silly!! Hooray for silly spontaneity!

Hey chica! Sounds like you had fun!!!
As long as they don’t catch you, it *is* possible to have cart races (like what you did) on the larger aisles.
I have some good memories of doing that at a larger greocery store in MI. *blush* But I won’t tell where (I’d have to change names to Protect The Not-So-Innocent).
NICE!!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!
I got the lean forward trick – it’s counter intuitive but the best way to avoid cart tipping.
Whoops forgot to leave cell 602-743-8335 love me Tina
